Clark - Clark

Clark released his self titled album this year and its full of interesting soundscapes from glistening synths and reverb chambers made of quartz crystals in giant underground caverns to static distorted bass driven swells and haunting vocals.

Stand out tracks for me on this release are

Clark - Winter Linn

It's everything I want in a track , soothing bass, lead synths that float away into the sky , with dark and haunting undertones built by the pads. Appregated melodies and then crushing breaks half way in I cant stop listening to this , its been on my playlist literally on repeat , first track I listen to getting on the train in the morning.

Clark - The grit in the pearl

A standard 4/4 but with really nice leads and beautifully contstructed melody , this track is quite heavenly and would be an uplifting moment for any clubber peaking on this would bring tears of joy im quite sure of it!

There are more favourites from this release on Warp records, get it now you wont stop listening , also check out his remix album feast/beast

NotSoSilent - Benton SWAMP 81 BBS - Saturday 29th Nov Max La Cheetahs

Wow hit in the face full pelt wae man flu! NO FUCKIN GID LIKES

anyways on wae the techno

If you have been fast asleep or just not paying attention to anything from the SWAMP
then you would have easily missed old dirty Benton.

Have produced some of the best tracks in the last year with no release in sight although we have been promised a Benton release on Swamp81 soon.

Finally Benton plays Glasgow , I really thought the SubClub would have got him in for some bass heavy bangers but Max La Cheetahs booked him.
Still at least he is coming.

From junjgle riddims, bass rollers to techno stompers Benton has been producing some down right filthy tracks

My favourite Benton - Brian (we dont like that london sound)
such an incredible drum break and the bass rolls and swells like a sea infested with deadly giant kraken and drunken sailors shouting obscenities at the hellish beasts.

Actin up another fine example of a Benton track such a good vocal sample and perfect bass
there is something nice about Benton his production is fucking fantastic
Miss Benton on Saturday and you will likely be crying about it into your pillow each night before you fall asleep.

£8 on the door , worth it to hear some of the best Swamp sounds this year !

Gaiser (Live) + Alan Belshaw Sensu is 10 Fri 21 November SubClub

This Friday coming Gaiser (live) and Alan Belshaw play for Sensu's 10th birthday.

Gaiser is a fantastic producer , he crafts really minimal yet energetic tracks , sculpts interesting and complex sounds which are full of rhythm and keep you wanting more.
Having dropped an essential mix earlier this year it's worth checking out if your new to Gaiser's unique sounds.

Gaiser - Essential mix 07/05/2014

Having recently released False Light on Ritchie Hawtins Minus label and rounding up the album tour he brings his style to Glasgow's finest subclub.
Playing along side one of Scotlands own DJ legend's Alan Belshaw who is a great DJ and totally sound guy.

One of my favourite Gaiser remixes and a total track from 2011
Marc Romboy vs Stephan Bodzin - Triton (Gaiser's Trial Tone Remix)

Sadly I'm missing this one as me and my lovely girlfriend are going to see Skepta at the art school for some filthy filthy grime!

Boiler Room - 10 years of Perc Trax

I dont know if you managed to catch the live broadcast of perc trax on the boiler room celebrating 10 years of the label and in doing so showcasing the old and new artists to the label.

Happa was up first and laid out some atmospheric precussive tracks, Randomer played a solid hour of baws oot techno filth , defintely a "taps aff" set from Randomer had this been in the subclub or max la cheetahs the taps would have been right aff!

Truss played after Randomer and was playing some really raw synth laden tracks , he played his track Brockweir and as I sat in the office I had to stop myself from tapping my foot and almost fist pumping at one point otherwise I would have drawn rather strange looks from my colleagues.

Perc finished up with a really diverse set, playing some really evil sounding techno , the stuff robots would listen to whilst invading planets.
He played this really weird track with a rather mad vocal sample of a man or men saying the phrase electric kareoke but saying it in the way the grimes sings her lyrics all half pronounced as if they had their mouths full daft but totally appropriate

You wont get it on boiler room as the feed is now private , but if they up the set definetely check it out, it made my day at the office.

Moteka - Lost Drum Tape 1 (Original MIX)

I normally go for techno tracks laden with filthy evil synths, but I always have a place on my cybernetic heart for a belter of a percussive barrage.
This rhythmic assault sounds like shock and awe 106th style. Coming up to this sonic bombardment would be a total rush, your heart ready to explode out your chest as though you'd just gave birth to a xenomorph.

ESA Rosetta comet song - techno sample

So the much anticipated ESA Rosetta mission has been an initial success, with the probe contacting the comet and miraculously picking up an oscillation inaudible to the human hear . Amplified at least 10,000 times to a audible frequency it sounds like some sort of organic space whale song It's too good a sound not to waste so have sampled it and am currently working on a techno track with this sampled. check back here for further updates. On that note well done to humanity for achieving something of the impossible, landing a man made probe on a comet travelling 36,000mph through space after circling the planets gaining speed in gravitationl slingshot the rosetta mission has paid off. Hopefully we can learn more about the our early solar system from the comet as it transits the sun.

Truss - Brockweir (Original Mix) [PERC TRAX]

Truss - Brockweir (Original Mix) [Perc Trax]

Another absolute weapon from the slowly exploding 10 years of Perc trax compilation.

A slow steady build up of synth fuzz, squelch static this jaggy synth bounces along and swells until your greeted with an overdriven granualised kick which thumps at your chest.

The synths continue to fire like blasters at the hands of a storm trooper on acid.

The synth and the kick with that grainy percussive scratch and the hats drowing in distortion and fuzz seem fitting.
An easy 8.5 on the total deadly meter (exact scale and measurement yet to be determined) - suggestions welcome
